Christmas Carols to be Broadcast on HF from Antarctica
A program of Christmas carols will be broadcast from Antarctica on Christmas Eve. The transmissions on 7995 kHz USB will begin on December 23 at 2300 UTC, coordinated by McMurdo Communications Operations (MacOps) — known as “The Voice of Antarctica.”
Each year, the station’s residents celebrate the holiday by singing Christmas Carols to those at remote Antarctic field camps. Participation will be from stations scattered throughout the Antarctic continent.
“The radios and antenna systems are optimized for on-continent communication, so we will be lucky to hear them in other parts of the world, but it has happened in the past,” said Nathaniel Frissell, W2NAF, who is handling QSL requests and who has participated as part of the chorus in past years while studying in Antarctica. Frissell shared some links of previous concerts, one recorded at McMurdo Station and one from the University of Twente WebSDR in the Netherlands.

Amhara State Regional Radio on 801 kHz
This evening good medium wave propagation from Ethiopia has brought quite rare (despite of the TX output power) signal of Amhara State Regional Radio here.
The station is broadcasting on 801 kHz via 100 kW MW transmitter located in Zege, near Lake Tana, in the north-western Ethiopian Highlands, as well as on short wave frequency of 6090 kHz via Gedja Jewe tentatively.
Luckily, there ara no other strong interfering signals on 801 kHz in Kyiv, so reception was pretty clear and stable. Here you can hear some listener's or reporter's phone-in and conversation on the first audio clip and song Lalkedash Kal Alebign by Ethiopian pop singer Neway Debebe on the second one. The recordings were made on 18th of December 2019 between 2015 and 2035 UTC:

Radio Thailand on 891 kHz
New 400 kW transmitter and 170 meters tall directional antenna of Radio Thailand (สถานีวิทยุกระจายเสียงแห่งประเทศไทย) near Bangkok seem to work well: signal of this station reaches Ukrainian capital and even covers IRIB Radio Dena sometimes.
Nice Thai oldies can be heard on 891 kHz till ~17.03 UTC, when Radio Thailand closes its broadcasting with final identification and National Anthem.
Other potential Asian/Pacific sources of interference during reception are mainly co-channel Ningxia Xinwen Zonghe Pindao (China), 5AN ABC Adelaide (Australia), JOHK NHK Radio 1 (Japan), HLKB KBS 1 Radio (Republic of Korea) and very difficult here AIR North (Rampur).
Here is final announcement and the National Anthem of Thailand (piano version) recorded on 25th of November 2019 on 891 kHz:

Petro Poroshenko visited Ukrainian semi-pirate station Tryzub FM
The 5th president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has visited studio of Ukrainian semi-pirate station Tryzub FM which is broadcasting for population of some temporarily occupied by russian troops and uncontrolled territories of Ukraine.
Poroshenko took part in one of the programs of the station and gifted new powerful FM transmitter to install it in some secret location near contact line.
What does "semi-pirate" status mean? Since June 2016 Tryzub FM (Trident FM) was a pirate station established by a group of dentists-volunteers from Zaporizhia. In December 2017 the station obtained temporary permission for broadcasts, and now it is being transmitted via registered and unregistered transmitters/frequencies in various places of Donetsk Oblast. The main 1 kW facility active on 98.0 MHz is located in Karlivka, however there are also several low power FM TX's in the region. Some of them are being jammed regularly by russian occupants and their pro-russian collaborators.

SAQ transmission on UN-Day, October 24th
Join us in celebrating UN Day on October 24 at the World Heritage Grimeton!
This year, hundred years have passed since equal voting rights for men and women were introduced in Sweden. It is a human right that everyone can make their voices heard in fundamental issues and is prerequisite for creating a democratic and peaceful society. On this occasion, we want to raise the power of women in peace issues. Therefore the organization Acting 4 Change, that works with the project womens empowerment in Casamance in Senegal, is invited to talk about women’s participation in the peace process from a Senegalese perspective.
During the evening, a peace message is sent with the old long-wave
transmitter SAQ and finally we listen to Senegalese rhythms performed by
Kilimandiarou.
The event is held in the radio station building with free admission.

Reception of Radio Krym Realii on 648 kHz
Early evening reception of signal of the new Ukrainian MW transmitter on 648 kHz is quite good in Kyiv. Some co-channel interference from Radio Murski Val (Slovenia) is not strong enough at this hours.
But later, QSB of the signal from Chonhar TX site gets more deep and frequent, and QRM from Slovenian station gets stronger making reception uncertain sometimes.

Skyline Radio Germany - 20 years on air!
WE WANT THE AIRWAVES - IF ROCK IS GONNA STAY ALIVE!
Shortwaveradio.de kindly gave us another possibility to be on air with some brandnew shows via their transmitters in Northern Germany.
If you would like to try to catch our programmes, 6 hours on October 26th, 2019, Saturday before Halloween, 13.00 - 19.00 UTC would be a good time to give us a listen again.
Try the 75 metre band shortwave on 3975 kHz!
Let's keep fingers crossed that propagation is good again!
We received more than 30 reception reports again in June and we hope we can beat this result again! So don't hesitate to write in again.
It might be a good chance for you to catch our very special and unique 1999 - 2019 anniversary eQSL-card! This is available as eQSL-card only!
We look forward to your reception reports and comments to: SKYLINE RADIO GERMANY, P.O.Box 2702, 6049 ZG Herten, The Netherlands or via e-mail to: skylineradiogermany/at/web.de
Have a great time with us and Good DX,
DJ Jan-Hendrik

Cat-and-Mouse game on 6250 and 6350 kHz
It's interesting to watch that daily cat-and-mouse game on 6250/6255 and 6350/6355 kHz where COTB station Echo of Hope runs away from North Korean jammer. Recently the station has changed its frequency to 6255 kHz, but jammer followed it. The similar "game" can be observed 100 kHz upward.
I hear the Echo of Hope on 6250 kHz and behindhand noise jammer on 6255 kHz at the moment recalling the same situation with Kurdish clandestine broadcasters and Iranian bubble jammer near 4 MHz in the late 1990s.
