The Radio Igloo program was not broadcast as scheduled via WRMI on February 7th.
We do not know why, but on 5010 kHz a religious program was broadcast in English and Spanish.
Now a new time has been added to broadcast our program with music and DX information. According to the schedule we have now received, the program will be broadcast on February 20th at 00.00-01.00 UTC on 5950 kHz.

On
Christmas morning, Friday December 24th 2021, SAQ Grimeton is
scheduled* to be on the air, to send out the traditional Christmas
message to the whole world, using the 97 year old 200kW Alexanderson
alternator on 17.2 kHz CW.

We
are planning to carry our some test transmissions on December 23rd,

SAQ will be on the air shorter periods of time during this interval,
when we will be carrying out some tests and measurements. Your comments

Visiting World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station Visitors
are most welcome to World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station on Christmas
morning, Dec 24th. The doors to the transmitter hall will open at 08:00
CET. The entrance is free of charge and we will offer free coffee with
Christmas buns and ginger snaps. We ask all visitors to observe all
applicable pandemic rules.
Not a member yet? Then it’s time to join the Alexander team! We welcome you as a member of the Alexander Grimeton Friendship Association,
to support our non-profit activities in preserving, documenting and
bringing to life the unique Alexanderson alternator from 1924.
As a member You get a 10% discount on World Heritage Grimeton’s
entry, shop and activities, and free admission to Alexander’s evening
displays and to the Alexanderson Day, upon presentation of
your membership card. Four times per year, you will receive our online
magazine “Alternatorn”, exclusively available only to our members.
Alexander members also have free admission to the Radio Museum in Gothenburg. Membership costs SEK 125 / year (approx. EUR 12.-).
*The world heritage site Grimeton is a living cultural heritage. All
transmissions with the long-wave transmitter SAQ are therefore
preliminary and may be cancelled at short notice.
Sunday December
19th FRS-Holland will be on air with its annual festive December /end
of the year broadcast. Details about times and frequencies will follow in
the course of December.
That day we will be broadcasting varied shows with great music, radio

On Sunday November 7th, the Free Radio Service Holland will again hit the airwaves. This autumn broadcast will feature our full programming: no less than 5 hours of Sunday free radio entertainment.
Programmes
will commence at 08:52 UTC/ 09:52 CET and close down will be just after
14:05 UTC/ 15:05 CET. Programmes will be aired on 7700//5800 kHz as well as on 6185 kHz. Please note that the 5800 kHz frequency can be altered a bit up or downwards.

On Sunday August 29th , the Free Radio Service Holland will take to the airwaves with a 4 hour evening broadcast.
On this occasion, programmes will commence at 17:52 UTC/ 19:52 CEST and close down will be just after midnight at 22:05 UTC/ 00:05 CET. The current propagation pattern made us decide to start not earlier than 18:00 UTC/ 20:00 CEST. Programmes will be aired on 7700//4900 kHz as well as on 6185 kHz. Please note that the 4900 kHz frequency can be altered a bit up or downwards.
This broadcast is the unofficial celebration of our 41st Anniversary.

Texas Radio Shortwave is teaming with WRMI to present an hour of music from Radio Merlin.
The program will be broadcast on 5800 kHz, Friday night, July 16, at 10 p.m. ET (0200 GMT on July 17).
Radio Merlin went on air in 1990 after changing its name from Radio Galaxy. Radio Galaxy was an FM pirate that moved to shortwave in 1989 after authorities raided it many times. They changed their name to Merlin as there was already a station called Radio Galaxy. From 1990 until 1994, the transmitter site was an abandoned electrical substation. After being raided many times, the station closed down for a few years and returned to broadcasting in 2004 with a new transmitter location. Radio Merlin is regularly heard throughout Europe with a transmitter power of about 20 Watts.
Reception reports must be sent directly to the station because Texas radio shortwave won’t issue an eQSL for the broadcast. The station’s address is radiomerlin/at/bluesky.co.uk (😕??? may be at blueyonder.co.uk? - UDXB).
This is the third in a series of weekly WRMI relays of European pirates and low-power licensed broadcasters, many of which haven’t been heard in North America for many years — if ever. The rest of the series looks like this:

Alexander Grimeton Association are planning to carry out two broadcasts
to the world from the old Alexanderson alternator SAQ. Only
required staff will be in place, due to the ongoing pandemic.

1. Startup and tuning at 10:30 CET (08:30 UTC) with a transmission of a message at 11:00 CET (09:00 UTC)
2. Startup and tuning at 13:30 CET (11:30 UTC) with a transmission of a message at 14:00 CET (12:00 UTC)

If you are planning to visit World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station on the Alexanderson Day, first see grimeton.org for visitor’s information.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, there will be no particular visitor activities on this day and no visitors will be allowed to the transmitter hall, during the transmissions. The
association will try to carry out the transmissions to the world from
the old Alexanderson alternator SAQ with minimal staff in place.

a result of the prevailing circumstances in our society, we
unfortunately have to inform that the traditional Christmas Eve
transmission with SAQ is cancelled.
We
find it sad to have to make this decision, but see it as a necessary
measure to protect everyone involved. While waiting for the next

We
